Rangers Acquire Yovani Gallardo in Four-Player Trade

The Texas Rangers acquired pitcher Yovani Gallardo and cash considerations from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for infielder Luis Sardinas and pitchers Corey Knebel and Marcos Diplan. Gallardo, 29 in February, has pitched in 214 career games for the Brewers. He has a career record of (89-64) with a 3.69 ERA. He pitched four complete games with three of them were shutouts. He was an All Star selection in 2010 and he won a Silver Slugger Award the same year. Sardinas, 21, made his Major League debut with the Rangers in 2014. In 43 games, he hit .261 with no home runs and eight runs batted in. Knebel, 23, made his Major League debut with the Detroit Tigers in 2014. In eight games, he did not register a decision, but he had a 6.23 ERA. Diplan, 18, spent the 2014 season with the Dominican Summer League Rangers. In 13 games, he compiled a record of (7-2) with a 1.54 ERA.
