Braves Sign Jonny Gomes
The Atlanta Braves signed outfielder Jonny Gomes to a one-year contract with an option for the 2016 season. Gomes, 34, has played in 1108 career games for the Tampa Bay Rays, Cincinnati Reds, Washington Nationals, Oakland Athletics, and Boston Red Sox. He has a career batting average of .244 with 155 home runs and 500 runs batted in. He won a World Series championship with the Red Sox in 2013.
