Red Sox Sign Humberto Quintero
The Boston Red Sox signed catcher Humberto Quintero to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Quintero, 35, has played in 471 career games for the San Diego Padres, Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals, Philadelphia Phillies, and Seattle Mariners. He has a career batting average of .234 with 20 home runs and 127 runs batted in.
