Mets Sign Joe Benson
The New York Mets signed outfielder Joe Benson to a minor league contract. Benson, 27, made his Major League debut with the Minnesota Twins in the 2011 season. In 21 games, he hit .239 with no home runs and two runs batted in. He has not appeared in a Major League game since.
