Mets Acquire Yoenis Cespedes

The New York Mets acquired outfielder Yoenis Cespedes from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for pitchers Michael Fulmer and Luis Cessa. Cespedes, 29, has played in 518 career games for the Athletics, Red Sox, and Tigers. He has a career batting average of .269 with 89 home runs and 323 runs batted in. He was selected to his first All Star Game in the 2014 season as a member of the Oakland Athletics. Fulmer, 22, has split this season with Class-A St. Lucie and Double-A Binghamton. In 16 games, he has compiled a record of (6-2) with a 2.03 ERA. Cessa, 23, has split this season with Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Las Vegas. In 18 games, he has compiled a record of (7-7) with a 3.98 ERA.
