The San Francisco Giants designated infielder Joaquin Arias for assignment. Arias, 30, has played in 474 career games for the Rangers, Mets, and Giants. He has a career batting average of .265 with seven home runs and 95 runs batted in. He won the World Series as a member of the San Francisco Giants in the 2012 and 2014 seasons.
