Pirates Acquire Joe Blanton
The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired pitcher Joe Blanton from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for cash considerations. Blanton, 34, has pitched in 280 career games for the Athletics, Phillies, Dodgers, Angels, and Royals. He has a career record of (87-91) with a 4.50 ERA and two saves. He has pitched eight complete games in his career and three of them were shutouts. He won the World Series as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2008 season.
