Pirates Acquire Aramis Ramirez
The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired third baseman Aramis Ramirez and cash considerations from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for pitcher Yhonathan Barrios. Ramirez, 37, has played in 2138 career games for the Pirates, Cubs, and Brewers. He has a career batting average of .284 with 380 home runs and 1384 runs batted in. He is a three-time All Star selection and he won a Silver Slugger Award in the 2011 season. Barrios, 23, has split this season with Double-A Altoona and Triple-A Indianapolis. In 33 games, compiled a record of (1-3) with a 2.68 ERA and 11 saves.
