Pirates, Dodgers Swap Morse, Tabata

The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired first baseman/outfielder Michael Morse and cash considerations from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for outfielder Jose Tabata. Morse, 33, has played in 757 career games for the Mariners, Nationals, Orioles, Giants, and Marlins. He has a career batting average of .276 with 103 home runs and 345 runs batted in. He won the World Series as a member of the San Francisco Giants in the 2014 season. Tabata, 26, has played in 509 career games for the Pirates. He has a career batting average of .275 with 17 home runs and 126 runs batted in.
