Royals Acquire Ben Zobrist

The Kansas City Royals acquired infielder/outfielder Ben Zobrist from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for pitchers Aaron Brooks and Sean Manaea (not pictured). Zobrist, 34, has played in 1131 career games for the Rays and Athletics. He has a career batting average of .264 with 120 home runs and 544 runs batted in. He is a two-time All Star selection. Brooks, 25, has pitched in four career games for the Royals. He has a career record of (0-1) with a 20.57 ERA. Manaea, 23, has split this season with the Arizona League Royals, Class-A Wilmington and Double-A Northwest Arkansas. In seven games, he has compiled a record of (1-1) with a 3.69 ERA.
