Astros Acquire Scott Kazmir

The Houston Astros acquired pitcher Scott Kazmir from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for pitcher Daniel Mengden and catcher Jacob Nottingham. Kazmir, 31, has pitched in 259 career games for the Rays, Angels, Indians, and Athletics. He has a career record of (96-84) with a 3.95 ERA. He has pitched three complete games in his career and one of them was a shutout. He is a three-time All Star selection. Mengden, 22, has split this season with Class-A Quad Cities and Class-A Lancaster. In 18 games, he has compiled a record of (6-2) with a 3.46 ERA and one save. Nottingham, 20, has also split this season with Quad Cities and Lancaster. In 76 games, he has hit .326 with 14 home runs and 60 runs batted in.
