Cubs Designate Edwin Jackson for Assignment

The Chicago Cubs designated pitcher Edwin Jackson for assignment. Jackson, 31, has pitched in 316 career games for the Dodgers, Rays, Tigers, Diamondbacks, White Sox, Cardinals, Nationals, and Cubs. He has a career record of (86-105) with a 4.61 ERA. He has pitched five complete games in his career and three of them were shutouts. One of his shutouts was a no-hitter. He was selected to his first All Star Game in the 2009 season as a member of the Detroit Tigers. He won the World Series as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2011 season.
