Pirates Acquire Joakim Soria

The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired pitcher Joakim Soria from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for infielder JaCoby Jones. Soria, 31, has pitched in 415 career games for the Royals, Rangers, and Tigers. He has a career record of (19-20) with a 2.61 ERA and 201 saves. He is a two-time All Star selection. Jones, 23, has split this season with Class-A Bradenton and Double-A Altoona. In 96 games, he has hit .260 with 10 home runs and 60 runs batted in.
