Brewers Sign Horst, Release Ely
The Milwaukee Brewers signed pitcher Jeremy Horst to a minor league contract. Horst, 29, has pitched in 72 career games for the Reds and Phillies. He has a career record of (2-2) with a 3.34 ERA. He has not appeared in a Major League game since the 2013 season. The Brewers also released pitcher John Ely. Ely, also 29, has pitched in 25 career games for the Dodgers. He has a career record of (4-13) with a 5.70 ERA. He has not appeared in a Major League game since the 2012 season.
