Multiple Players Elect Free Agency

Twelve players have elected free agency. Out of these players, two of them used to play for the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Arizona Diamondbacks announced that infielder Ronny Cedeno has elected free agency. Cedeno played with the Pirates from 2009 to 2011 after he was acquired from the Seattle Mariners in a trade for infielder Jack Wilson and pitcher Ian Snell. During that span of time, Cedeno played in 316 games and registered a .254 batting average with 15 home runs and 91 runs batted in. Other than playing for the Pirates, Cedeno has played for the Chicago Cubs, Seattle Mariners, New York Mets, Houston Astros, San Diego Padres, and Philadelphia Phillies. The Milwaukee Brewers announced that catcher Matt Pagnozzi declared free agency. Pagnozzi played in five games with the Pirates in the 2011 season. In eight at bats, Pagnozzi registered two hits for a .250 batting average. He also had one run batted in. Pagnozzi has also played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Colorado Rockies, Houston Astros, and Milwaukee Brewers.
