Two Elect Free Agency
Pirates pitcher Vin Mazzaro and first baseman Chris McGuiness have declared free agency. McGuiness was acquired from the Texas Rangers in exchange for pitcher Miles Mikolas. He spent the entire 2014 season with the Indianapolis Indians. Mazzaro pitched briefly for the Pirates this season after spending a majority of the 2013 season on the big league roster. In 62 appearances out of the bullpen, Mazzaro compiled a record of (8-2) to go along with one save. Mazzaro also appeared in 3 playoff games in 2013, posting 1 2/3 shutout innings with two strikeouts.
