Angels Claim Jackson Williams Off Waivers
The Los Angeles Angels have announced that they have claimed catcher Jackson Williams off waivers from the Colorado Rockies. Williams, 28, made his Major League debut with the Rockies in the 2014 season. He registered a batting average of .214 with one home run and three runs batted in. Prior to being with the Rockies, Williams was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in 2007 and was in their minor league system through the 2013 season before he signed a minor league contract with the Rockies. The Angels also announced that they will place him on the 60-day disabled list because of knee surgery.
