Oscar Taveras
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Oscar Taveras was killed in a car accident in the Dominican Republic tonight. Edilia Arvelo, Taveras's eighteen-year-old girlfriend was also killed. Taveras made his Major League debut in 2014 and appeared in 80 games with the Cardinals. Taveras recorded a batting average of .239 with three home runs and 22 runs batted in. This is a tragic loss for the St. Louis Cardinals and may Oscar Taveras rest in peace.
