Padres Acquire Matt Kemp

The San Diego Padres acquired outfielder Matt Kemp and catcher Tim Federowicz from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for catcher Yasmani Grandal, and pitchers Joe Wieland and Zach Eflin. Kemp, 30, has played in 1116 career games for the Dodgers. He has a career batting average of .292 with 182 home runs and 648 runs batted in. He is a two-time All Star selection, a two-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and a two-time Gold Glove Award winner. Federowicz, 27, has played in 89 career games for the Dodgers. He has a career batting average of .194 with five home runs and 22 runs batted in. Grandal, 26, has played in 216 career games for the Padres. He has a career batting average of .245 with 24 home runs and 94 runs batted in. Wieland, 25 in January, has pitched in nine career games for the Padres. He has a career record of (1-4) with a 5.31 ERA. Eflin, 20, spent the 2014 season with Class-A Lake Elsinore. In 24 games, he compiled a record of (10-7) with a 3.80 ERA.
