Braves Sign A.J. Pierzynski
The Atlanta Braves signed catcher A.J. Pierzynski to a one-year contract. Pierzynski, 38 on December 30, has played in 1865 career games for the Minnesota Twins, San Francisco Giants, Chicago White Sox, Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, and St. Louis Cardinals. He has a career batting average of .281 with 177 home runs and 837 runs batted in. He is a two-time All Star selection, a one-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and he won the World Series with the White Sox in 2005.
