Red Sox Acquire Anthony Varvaro From the Braves
The Boston Red Sox acquired pitcher Anthony Varvaro from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for pitcher Aaron Kurcz and cash considerations. Varvaro, 30, has pitched in 157 career games for the Seattle Mariners and Atlanta Braves. He has a career record of (7-8) with a 3.18 ERA and one save. Kurcz, 24, spent the 2014 season with the Portland Sea Dogs, Boston's Double-A affiliate. In 34 games, he compiled a record of (3-2) with a 2.14 ERA and three saves.
