Tigers Acquire Alfredo Simon

The Detroit Tigers acquired pitcher Alfredo Simon from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for infielder Eugenio Suarez and pitcher Jonathan Crawford. Simon, 33, has pitched in 209 career games for the Orioles and Reds. He has compiled a record of (32-28) with a 3.86 ERA and 19 saves. He was selected to his first All Star Game in 2014. Suarez, 23, made his Major League debut with the Tigers in 2014. In 85 games, he hit .242 with four home runs and 23 runs batted in. Crawford, 23, spent the 2014 season with Class-A West Michigan. In 23 games, he compiled a record of (8-3) with a 2.85 ERA.
