Marlins Acquire Martin Prado

The Miami Marlins acquired infielder Martin Prado, pitcher David Phelps, and cash considerations in exchange for outfielder Garrett Jones, and pitchers Nathan Eovaldi and Domingo German. Prado, 31, has played in 981 career games for the Braves, Diamondbacks, and Yankees. He has a career batting average of .291 with 78 home runs and 426 runs batted in. He was a 2010 All Star selection as a member of the Braves. Phelps, 28, has pitched in 87 career games for the Yankees. He has a career record of (15-14) with a 4.21 ERA and one save. He also has one career complete game. Jones, 33, has played in 854 career games for the Twins, Pirates, and Marlins. He has a career batting average of .253 with 117 home runs and 383 runs batted in. Eovaldi, 25 in February, has pitched in 83 career games for the Dodgers and Marlins. He has a career record of (15-35) with a 4.07 ERA. German, 22, spent the 2014 season with Class-A Greensboro. In 25 games, he compiled a record of (9-3) with a 2.48 ERA.
