Twins Sign Phil Hughes to a Three-Year Extension

The Minnesota Twins signed pitcher Phil Hughes to a three-year extension. He is already signed through the 2016 season. His contract will now run through the 2019 season. Hughes, 28, has pitched in 214 career games for the Yankees and Twins. He has a career record of (72-60) with a 4.32 ERA and three saves. He has pitched three career complete games with one of them being a shutout. He was a 2010 All Star selection and he won the World Series with the Yankees in 2009.
