Dodgers Sign Brandon McCarthy, Designate Brian Wilson

The Los Angeles Dodgers signed pitcher Brandon McCarthy to a four-year contract. McCarthy, 31, has pitched in 207 career games for the Chicago White Sox, Texas Rangers, Oakland Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks, and New York Yankees. He has a career record of (52-65) with a 4.09 ERA. He has pitched nine career complete games with four of them being shutouts. To make room on the roster, the Dodgers designated pitcher Brian Wilson for assignment. Wilson, 33 in March, has pitched in 394 career games for the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers. He has a career record of (24-25) with a 3.30 ERA and 172 saves. He is a three-time All Star selection and he won the World Series with the Giants in 2010.
