Padres Acquire Derek Norris in Four-Player Trade

The San Diego Padres acquired catcher Derek Norris, pitcher Seth Streich, and an international signing slot from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for pitcher Jesse Hahn and R.J. Alvarez. Norris, 26 in February, has played in 285 career games for the Athletics. He has a career batting average of .246 with 26 home runs and 119 runs batted in. He was selected to his first All Star Game in 2014. Streich, 24 in February, spent the 2014 season with Class-A Stockton. In 22 games, he compiled a record of (9-6) with a 3.16 ERA. Hahn, 25, made his Major League debut for the Padres in 2014. In 12 games, he compiled a record of (7-4) with a 3.07 ERA. Alvarez, 23, also made his Major League debut with the Padres in 2014. In 10 games, he did not register a decision, but he had a 1.13 ERA.
